Getting an HPPSC signature to 140 x 110 and 40 KB

HPPSC's answers for online applicants say to sign on white paper with a black ink pen and scan it, with the image 110 pixels high and 140 pixels wide, as a .jpg of no more than 40 KB.

This page crops the signature to 140 x 110 pixels where you place the crop box and saves it at the best quality under 40 KB.

Tips

  • Sign with a black pen on plain white paper, a little smaller than usual so it fits the near-square shape.
  • Take the photo close around the signature, then drag the crop box so it keeps all of it.
  • Each notification can set its own rules. If yours states a different size, change it under Change size or pixels before you compress.

Requirements from HPPSC's frequently asked questions, checked 19 October 2026. Forms change their rules, so check the form itself if something is rejected.

Questions

Is it free?

Yes. There is no sign-up and no watermark.

What happens to my file?

It is processed on our server and deleted automatically: the original 5 minutes after the run finishes, the compressed file after 10. A file you upload but never compress is deleted within 30 minutes. You can also delete everything right away with Delete now.

Will it look worse?

We try a lossless cleanup first, which does not change how the file looks. Only if that is not enough do we lower image quality, and we pick the gentlest setting that still fits your size.

What if my file cannot get that small?

You get the smallest version we could make and a clear note saying so, instead of a file that silently misses the limit.

Why is my file a little under the limit I picked?

Some sites count a kilobyte as 1000 bytes and others as 1024. We aim under the stricter one, so a 200 KB page aims for 200,000 bytes and the file passes either way.
