Getting an APPSC photo under 50 KB
APPSC's One Time Profile Registration form asks for the photograph as a JPG or JPEG, 3.5 cm wide and 4.5 cm high, and refuses a file of 50 KB or more. It can be in colour or black and white, taken without a cap or goggles (glasses are fine), and your name and the date it was taken must be printed on the photo itself. Polaroid photos are not accepted.
The form sets no pixel size, so this page keeps the photo as large as fits under 50 KB. It reduces the size step by step and stops at the first step that fits.
Tips
- Get the name and date printed on the photo at the studio. This page does not add text.
- Crop the photo to passport shape, close around your head and shoulders, with the name and date strip kept in.
- The form takes JPG or JPEG files only.
Requirements from APPSC's One Time Profile Registration form, checked 19 October 2026. Forms change their rules, so check the form itself if something is rejected.

Questions
Is it free?
Yes. There is no sign-up and no watermark.
What happens to my file?
It is processed on our server and deleted automatically: the original 5 minutes after the run finishes, the compressed file after 10. A file you upload but never compress is deleted within 30 minutes. You can also delete everything right away with Delete now.
Will it look worse?
We try a lossless cleanup first, which does not change how the file looks. Only if that is not enough do we lower image quality, and we pick the gentlest setting that still fits your size.
What if my file cannot get that small?
You get the smallest version we could make and a clear note saying so, instead of a file that silently misses the limit.
Why is my file a little under the limit I picked?
Some sites count a kilobyte as 1000 bytes and others as 1024. We aim under the stricter one, so a 200 KB page aims for 200,000 bytes and the file passes either way.
